What you can brand
Branding makes each client portal look like it comes from your business. Depending on your plan, you can set:
- Logo. Shown at the top of every client portal.
- Accent color. Used for buttons and highlights in the portal and in emails sent to your clients.
- Welcome message. A short note clients see on the home page of their portal, for example how you like to work or how to reach you.
- "Powered by Clientwharf" footer. Shown on lower plans, removable on higher plans.
- Portal address. A custom subdomain or a custom domain on higher plans.
All of these are set by an owner or admin in Settings > Branding at /app/settings/branding. Changes apply to every client portal in the workspace.
Which plans include what
| Option | Available on |
|---|---|
| Logo, accent color, welcome message | Freelancer Pro and above, and during the free trial |
| Remove "Powered by Clientwharf" | Studio and above |
| Custom portal subdomain | Studio and above |
| Custom domain | Agency Plus and Scale |
See pricing for full plan details.
Logo
Select Upload logo and choose an image file. A horizontal logo on a transparent or white background works best, because the portal header is light. Keep important details large enough to read at small sizes.
Accent color
Under Colour and welcome message, enter an Accent colour in hex format, such as #155E75, and select Save branding. The Preview next to the form shows how it looks. Pick a color dark enough for white text to stay readable on buttons. If your brand color is very light, use a darker shade from your palette instead.
Welcome message
Keep it short and practical. For example: "Welcome to your project portal. You will find all files, updates and approvals here. Reply to any email from this portal if you have a question."
Custom portal subdomain
On Studio plans and above, you can choose a subdomain for your portals, such as yourstudio.clientwharf.com, so the address shows your business name. Enter it under Custom subdomain and select Save subdomain. Pick something short and recognizable. Each subdomain can only be used by one workspace.
Custom domain
On Agency Plus and Scale, you can serve portals from a domain you own, such as clients.yourstudio.com.
- Under Custom domain, enter the domain and select Save domain.
- Add the CNAME record shown on the page at your domain provider.
- Wait for verification. The status shows Pending DNS until the record is detected, then Active.
DNS changes can take time to spread. If the status shows Needs attention, double-check the record for typos and make sure no other record exists for the same name.
What happens if you change plans
If you move to a plan that does not include an option, the portal falls back to the default for that option. For example, the "Powered by Clientwharf" footer reappears. Your saved settings are kept, so they come back if you upgrade again.
